SMB One Stop Shop Template
If you are reading this, it is very likely that you do not want to spend a lot of time figuring out what Boost can do for you but would like to directly jump in and see what you can get out of the box.
Welcom to the One Stop Shop template.
This setup will provide you with (among others) the following functionality:
- Asset management to monitor what your company has and where it is
- Purchase orders to enable your employees to request new hardware/software/product and to manage the full order/approval/asset management workflow
- Cost declarations to allow your employees to manage their travel and other costs including the full associated workflow
- Client management to maintain your lists of clients and contacts - this can be used as the basis for billing or as the core of a simple CRM module.
- Invoicing management. The possibilities are endless, but the basic template allows you to create and send basic invoices to your customers. The system also provides standard collection (incasso) functionality.
- HR: you can manage all your emloyee information, including contract management, contract expiry monitoring, holiday approvals and management end even time tracking (for billing purposes) if needed.
- HR: You can also use Boost to manage the processes of employee on-boarding or off-boarding - this is especially important if you operate under certified processes like ISO27001.
- HR: Performance appraisals of you employees. You can automatically schedule regular assessments, set targets, compare earlier assessments and review previous goals.
- Proposal workflow: You can use the system to create proposals for your customers including the full workflow from proposal to acceptance, delivery and billing.
- Support functions: You can set up Boost to provide basic helpdesk functionality for your internal staff and even your customers and you can have workflow to make sure issues do not get lost or forgotten. You can also define a basic dashboard to monitor your service levels.
- Legal: Boost can generate basic privae statements or processor agreements if needed.
- Financial forecasting: If you do you invoicing/billing with Boost, you can also provide cost structure information and use this to provide financial forecasting reports.
- Questionnaires: With Boost it is very easy to define any type of questionnaire - we use it to collect job application or even to monitor plastic usage in a company.
- Custom dashboards: Boost can be used to define custom dashboards on any of the data that you use, whether it is service level monitoring for your support system, financial reporting for your cost vs turnover or invoice collection status; if you have the data you can visualize it in a useful way.
Needless to say, there are many possibilities described above and many of them might need some customization to fit your business. We have created the One Stop Shop Template to use sensible defaults to get you started rght away. Remember, everything is completely customizable. If you need help, contact our support using the chat in the application.
To make the default template as widely applicable as possible, we have created a standard company structure based on different departments. This means you can apply this structure in a larger company with many employees in different departments but if you have a smaller company where less people fulfill more roles, you can do this by adding the same users to mutlple departments. The purpose of departments are to make sure that people can only access data and functionality which they are allowed. This is especially important in certified environments like ISO27001 companies.
So lets get started:
Our One Stop Shop has the following departments:
- HR
- Manages employee information, job applications, performance reviews
- Finance
- Manages billing & collections, purchase orders, expense reports, asset management
- Legal
- Manages processor agreements, employment contracts, loan agreements, contractor agreements
- Sales
- Manages proposals and prospect funnel
- Operations
- Manages support tickets
And we have the following data entities/information units. Some entities are visible to multiple departments for example, HR, Finance and Legal can all see the employee list and employment contracts (HR because they hired the person and need to plan review or cancel contracts, Legal because they drafted the employment contract and Finance because they pay the salary), but only HR can see the performance reviews and only finance can see cost declarations.

Below is a little step by step plan to set up your Boost One Stop Shop Template. Off course, you only need to fill in the parts that interest you, and you can even remove the non relevant parts if you want to. We will do this by defining the different business processes and then describing how this will work. All descriptions assume you are logged into Boost and are on the home page.
